♥CHARLIE-success story!!♥
This beautiful green-eyed boy was left to die by the roadside. We found him probably on what would have been the last day of his life. He has thrived on healthy food, supplements and a lot of love♥ Charlie is a Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) Mix. More about this cool, loyal breed here: Xoloitzcuintli He is gaining strength and health more and more each day. Charlie is FULL of personality. He’s curious and silly but will slow down for gentle doggie snuggles. He’s just an absolute doll who didn’t deserve what life handed him. He is now on his way to the beautiful life he definitely deserves. He’s been a pleasure to teach about all the great things life has to offer him; like long strolls in the sunshine and silly romping & playtime. He weighs 25lbs and is approx 1 ½- Perfect!
He’s also neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative. He is also crate trained. Good boy!
Charlie the day we found him. He’s come so far since then. One of the biggest points of sunshine in his life is his new friend Gracie.
UPDATE: Charlie has been adopted!!! He is healing beautifully & he is now cherished as he should be.
Charlie now rides with his doggie sister to take his human sister to school. When mom was taking her inside, Charlie decided the baby seat was for him ☺ Tooo funny. Charlie is now so very cherished by an awesome family. Bonus is that his new doggie sister looks just like his former bestie, Casper. So, he loved her right away! When Charlie’s new mom walked in to meet him for the first time, Charlie just looked up and took a big breath. It felt as though he was thinking “Oh there you are. You finally found me” ♥
♥Leonard♥
Leonard is such a pleasure! He’s so fun to hang out with. He is personality plus! Charming, loveable, and quite a character.
Leonard is a HANDSOME black 15 month old lab/pit mix! He LOVES people, LOVES his toys, LOVES the water and LOVES to play fetch. He also LOVES long naps in his bed. Leonard has some puppy energy but is very calm most of time and can entertain himself with his toys. He’s very affectionate; loves to lay near you with his foot touching you, lean on you, get belly rubs, gives kisses when asked, and will even sit in your lap if you’re playing on the floor with him! He’s such a sweetheart!
It’s heartbreaking that Leonard most likely belonged to a homeless man and then had 6 months of very stressful shelter life as a puppy. This awesome boy, however, is very adaptable and learns fast. Leonard has had ten days of board and train. He is smart and VERY eager to please, and responded in training with one or two corrections. He can sit, come, wait, and lay down. He also LOVES his treats! He has learned his manners and how to get
attention the right way. Good boy, Leonard!
Leonard is house trained!! He walks well on a leash. He bonds quickly to people and will make a GREAT companion for an adult or couple or would do well in a family with older children. Leonard loves greeting young children too but jumps some times. He is still “needy” for affection and love since he’s had such instability. Leonard just needs to be loved! He likes other dogs but is scared at first. Once comfortable, Leonard picks up the social cues and plays well. Leonard is currently in foster. This sweet boy has so much to offer! He is such a happy, fun dog! He just wants a safe place to call home and a best friend to love him. He needs structure and kind but consistent rules that make him feel safe and secure.

♥RIVER♥
River was My Fox Austin’s Pet of the Week. You can see her loveliness here RIVER ON FOX
Miss Lovely River
was found living in a field. She was very skinny and has been so grateful to be taken care of and adored. She is young. We estimate her to be around 2 1/2 years old. She appears to be a Plott Hound Mix. We call her “the fence whisperer” because she is SO perfect at calming dogs down who are upset or aggressive on the opposite side of a fence. Good girl River!! She has been out and about at local Austin pet friendly restaurants. She is wonderful. She just makes herself comfie under the table and waits patiently. She also LOVES riding in the car. She would be a great running partner or agility dog.
When she meets people, she puts her head on the ground and her cute bootie in the air. She’s simply adorable!! She’s also quiet, crate trained, spayed, vaccinated, & heartworm negative. River is excellent at ‘sit’ & ‘shake’ ☺

☺Jonah ☺

JONAH THE DOG IN THE PARK
Jonah was living in a community park for 7 months when a nice lady noticed him scavenging for food. She left food daily, and put out shelter for him until the time was right to catch him, and bring him into rescue. Jonah wasn’t in the best of shape; he needed an FHO to fix an old hip injury, and had to have several teeth extracted. He has recovered well from both of those procedures.
He is a super sweet guy who just needs safety and love forever and ever. Everyone who meets Jonah ADORES him!!!! Jonah is approximately 5 years old. He has been through alot and will be grateful and love his new family forever and ever ♥
Jonah has been in his foster home for four months now but his current foster dad can no longer keep him. His own dog is elderly, and with the end of life care that he needs, it has been too hard on him to care for Jonah as well.
Jonah does get along with other dogs or is fine being the only dog. Good boy Jonah!!
☺RHONIN☺
They do not get any better than this!!!! Rhonin is pure perfection!!!! He’s so very tall and handsome. He’s also 100% perfect with other dogs. He’s currently living with 8 other dogs of all sizes and he’s soooo wonderful. He’s also perfect with kiddos.
Rhonin was found as a little bitty baby living with his siblings and his mom in a field under a brush pile. His mom is a bird dog mix. Her picture can be seen in the banner picture of our Facebook Page ~I Once Was Lost Animal Advocacy.
Rhonin definitely has the paint job of a blue heeler. However, he is VERY tall. He weighs 76#. Wow, he’s just awesome!!! He’s also crate trained, house trained and very quiet. He never chews on anything he’s not supposed to. He is 15 months old (April)
Rhonin was adopted as a small puppy and ended up in the wrong situation. So, he has been returned to our rescue to find the family he was meant to be with forever and ever.He will be a wonderful addition to any family and a fabulous best friend.
Rhonin’s siblings have all stayed in contact. In fact, we had a great big family reunion this past January. Feel free to join our group and see Rhonin’s family on our facebook page Save Mystique and Puppies. ☺

DEAN
CUTIE PATOOTIE!!!
That’s what Dean is. This little doll was found running down the road by a kind citizen. She took him to the local animal shelter where he has been for TWO MONTHS!!!
We just couldn’t let this little guy spend his puppyhood in a shelter. So, he is now with I Once Was Lost Animal Advocacy and looking for his forever home.
Dean is super duper smart and such a good boy!!! He learns quickly, he’s crate trained and he’s good with other doggies and kiddos.
He will be a wonderful bestie for ever and ever!! ♥
